On March 22, 11:00 am, Human Rights Center publishes the Short Monitoring Report about Alleged Covert Investigation against the Participants of Protest Demonstrations.

The report states that the alleged covert surveillance and photo-video footage of protest participants from the side of police officers is one of the main problems identified during the monitoring of assemblies. The report also evaluates coherence of these actions with the pre-conditions to launch covert investigation action as it is regulated in the law.

The photos taken by the HRC monitors during the assemblies depict alleged facts of the police surveillance of the protest participants that is violation of freedom of assembly unless the action started based on respective legal grounds. Therefore, if similar unlawful practice is applied, the responsible bodies and persons shall eradicate similar facts.

The report also provides recommendations to the state institutions.

HRC presents the short monitoring report to media on March 22, Friday, at 11:00 am.
Venue: Tbilisi, Akaki Gakhokidze street 11a, Zero floor
