Human Rights Center was invited to the February 5th pre-session of the UN Committee after the organization, together with the international organization OMCT, submitted the joint alternative report to the Committee. During the meeting, the HRC representatives answered many questions of the Committee members.

Additionally, with the support of the HRC’s international partners – the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT) and Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF), Nino Chaladze and Ana Jabauri met with:

  • Representatives of the HRHF, Amnesty International, and FIDH;
  • UN Special Rapporteur on Peaceful Assembly and Association;
  • Representative of the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Issues;
  • Representative of the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression;
  • Representatives of 11 permanent country missions to the UN (namely, of EU, USA, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Luxemburg, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden and Great Britain).
Human Rights Center expresses sincere gratitude to the OMCT for the facilitation and financial support of the HRC’s participation in the pre-session of the UN Committee and HRC representatives’ visit to Geneva.
