On June 23, 2025, for disobedience to the request of the investigation commission, Zurab Japaridze was sentenced to 7 months imprisonment and was prohibited to hold a public office for a period of 2 years.

Statement of Human Rights Center Regarding the Mass Restriction of Freedom of Expression on Social Media
On June 11, 2025, civil activists, TV-anchors, journalists and opposition politicians almost simultaneously were summoned to the Tbilisi City Court on June 12, 2025 , in connection with ongoing administrative offense cases against them. The cases are related with the critical statements (so-called posts) of the mentioned individuals about the Georgian Dream MPs and government officials on social media.

We express strong concern over the complaints filed by the ruling party, “Georgian Dream,” against leading critical broadcasters operating in Georgia – “TV Pirveli” and “Formula”, as well as “Mtavari TV” (currently operating on a website and social platforms only). The content of these complaints represents a direct attempt to impose censorship.

The Coalition for Equality categorically opposes the removal of the term 'gender' from Georgian legislation
A package of legislative amendments has been initiated in the illegitimate parliament of Georgia, which envisages the complete removal of the term “gender” from legislative acts and the abolition of gender councils. The aforementioned amendments contradict constitutional values, local and international standards of human rights protection.
